## Your images

Image bytes are read into browser memory, run through the model, and composited into a PNG, all on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Close the tab and the image is gone.

## What the site does load

- The web app itself, from bg0.dev.
- The model weights, once, from the Hugging Face model hub. They are cached in the browser afterwards.

## What the site never sends

- Image pixels, thumbnails, or masks.
- File names, file sizes, or image URLs.
- Anything about the images you processed.

## Anonymous analytics

bg0.dev uses PostHog to count page routes and a small set of product actions:
choosing an image, whether local removal succeeded, the browser engine used,
downloading or copying a result, and using result views. Full URLs, image
metadata, session recordings, automatic click capture, and person profiles are
disabled. A random anonymous identifier is kept in local storage so visits can
be counted without an account.

## Verify it

Open the browser's network panel and process an image. You will see the app, the
one-time model download, and small PostHog event requests. You will never see an
image sent over the network. The code is open source, so you can read the
[browser package](https://github.com/opencoredev/bg0/tree/main/packages/browser) and
the [analytics module](https://github.com/opencoredev/bg0/blob/main/apps/web/src/lib/analytics.ts)
to confirm the same thing.
